Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer|Designer for its offices across the U.S. You will work with mentors on structural analyses, design, and documentation, gaining exposure to site visits and client collaboration.

You'll be mentored toward PE licensure, with opportunities for growth in seismic analysis and steel design across multiple locations. This role blends learning with meaningful project delivery in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in structural engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional candidates with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 1–2 years of highly technical structural design experience will be considered if they show proficiency equivalent to advanced graduate-level work.
  • Core technical proficiency demonstrated via advanced graduate coursework or professional project experience in: steel design, reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering (West Coast).

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design under licensed engineers' guidance.
  • Produce contract documents and deliverables with high quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients; communicate progress and issues clearly.
  • Participate in site visits and connect design decisions to real-world construction.
  • Develop technical knowledge and professional skills through mentorship and learning.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and contribute to project success.
