Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking an Engineer I in the Structural Design & Analysis Group to perform calculations for reactor components and apply the ASME Code to design and analysis.   • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; alternate degrees considered with relevant experience.

About the role:

As an Engineer I in our Structural Design & Analysis Group you will perform calculations for multiple reactor components and apply the ASME Code to the design and analysis.

You will report to the Director of Reactor Component Engineering and be located at Cranberry, PA and work in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accomplish design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions using lessons learned and best practices.
  • Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closedform analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering codes.
  • Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure subsystem integration and resolve design and production issues.
  • Demonstrate technical acument, delivering highquality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
Qualifications:
  • We consider BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering with relevant experience).
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and at least a familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
