Job summary

AMT seeks an Entry Level Structural / Bridge Engineer to join the Charleston, SC office. The role involves bridge design and analysis, condition state bridge inspections, and plan development across projects using traditional and alternative delivery methods.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) with EIT preferred, and a willingness to learn under experienced staff, contributing to CAD work, design reports, and client meetings in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• EIT preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Prior internship experience is a plus.
• Willingness to perform hands-on bridge condition inspection and comfortable with heights.
• Ability to learn or proficiency with bridge analysis and design software.
• Excellent understanding of various structural design concepts and standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, managers, supervisors, and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Support structural and bridge design and analysis across projects.
• Assist with plan development, CAD support, and design reports.
• Attend project meetings with staff and clients and communicate effectively.
