Base pay range

$68,000.00/yr - $72,000.00/yr

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

MP's client is one of the largest independently owned insurance brokerage firms in the country providing a full range of employee benefits, compliance, and HR consulting services, along with retirement solutions for both the private and public sectors. The business was formed in 2008 and today serves over three million participants nationally in the K-12, Corporate and Government markets.

They are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join their Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices and vendor payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end close processes. This position plays a vital role in the company's cash flow management and vendor relationships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

This position will be responsible for processing client billings and accounts payable across multiple partner firms, as well as contributing to projects including but not limited to audit and integration work. The position is a hands-on role that values a team member that can trouble-shoot and provide guidance on how to grow and succeed. Integration projects will require frequent interactions with leadership at the National Office and other partner firms. During the month end close this position will be requested to complete a list of journal entries and complete other basic accounting tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Billing and Accounting Work independently to ensure customer invoices are processed in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate customer records in Accounting ERP
• Routing client inquiries to appropriate team
• Assist with providing budget to actual variance explanations
• Accounts Payable Coordinate approval, code, and process vendor invoices
• Ensure timely payments in accordance with vendor terms
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
• Prepare annual Form 1099 template for necessary vendors
• Maintain monthly operating expense accruals and prepaid entries
• Teamwork Assist Corporate Accounting team with budget to actual variance explanations
• Contribute to developing the annual budget and re-forecasting process
• Work with integrations team to assist with onboarding of new partner firms billing and accounts payable
• Work with National Office HR on projects; including ad-hoc requests related to integration and audit requests

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
• A minimum of 5 years in Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable roles
• Prior experience with ERP/accounting software; experience with Microsoft SL a plus
• Proven success working in a multi-location environment
• Experience working with offshore teams, preferred
• Experience with Retirement Planning or TPA industry, a plus!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• 100% Remote
• Full-time/exempt
• Compensation: $58,000-$62,000
