Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an entry-level apprentice to learn the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial applications. You will learn under the foreman and contribute to safe, reliable building systems.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the Johnson Controls Zero Harm policy. Candidates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma, and be able to perform physical labor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Capable of performing physical labor and climbing ladders/scaffolding.
• Be enrolled in the apprenticeship program and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Learn/assist in installing wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Maintain documentation for work performed and adhere to instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Participate in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program and standards.
