Job summary

Keswick Hall in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support daily kitchen objectives and assist across all stations in a luxury resort setting. You will help supervise a fifteen-person team, uphold high standards of food quality, sanitation, and budget control, and contribute to guest satisfaction.

You will collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine on menu development, train staff, and ensure consistent service across all dining outlets.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of meats and fish; ability to work all stations.
• Minimum 2 years’ culinary supervisory experience in fine dining/resort settings.
• ServSafe Certification; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading staff across all kitchen areas, including sanitation and food production.
• Contribute to guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
• Oversee training of staff and ensure quality and freshness of products.
• Coordinate daily production with the Chef and participate in menu development.
• Monitor refrigeration, storage, and rotation; resolve food quality issues.
