Job summary

The Sicilian Butcher Nashville is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our fast-paced, chef-driven concept. You will support kitchen leadership, help with food preparation, and mentor junior staff to uphold high culinary standards.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in similar roles, preferably Italian cuisine, and hold a culinary degree or certification. A valid food handler’s permit and reliable attendance are required as we strive for consistent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a similar role (Junior Sous Chef, Line Cook, or equivalent).
• Italian cuisine experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or certification preferred.
• Valid food handler’s permit and regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead food preparation and assist with daily kitchen operations.
• Execute recipes and maintain menu quality and consistency.
• Mentor kitchen staff on food safety and prep techniques.
• Oversee food safety, temperature control, and quality checks.
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff to maintain a clean, efficient workspace.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and controlling food costs.
• Support catering and events with on-site food preparation.
