Job summary

SSA Group is seeking a Jr Sous Chef in Colorado to lead daily kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure top-notch guest experiences. You will assist in safety, prep, and quality control while collaborating with the Sous Chef and restaurant leadership.

The role requires 1–2 years in culinary work, strong teamwork, and flexibility to work nights and weekends. Overtime pay, meal discounts, and a 401(k) with company match are available benefits.

Responsibilities

• Live out 452 Hospitality by delivering warm, welcoming experiences for guests.
• Ensure restaurant/location is prepped and staffed for daily operation.
• Oversight of kitchen duties, safety, quality, merchandising, and guest service standards.
• Maintain safety logs including temps, rotation, and waste.
• Ensure proper uniform hygiene and glove use with staff.
• Assist SSA Safety training with knife handling skills for staff.
• Create daily prep and item lists; delegate tasks as needed.
• Support operations and fill holes to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain cleaning checklists and ongoing projects or menu planning.
• Assist Sous Chef in assigning duties and coaching staff.
• Respond to guest feedback; liaise with operations manager to mitigate complaints.
• Oversee personnel duties: training, reviews, attendance, and scheduling.
• Inspect equipment; perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Collaborate with restaurant supervisors to meet standards.
• Remain knowledgeable of applicable laws and regulations.
