Job summary

Waites Sensor Technologies Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL. You will help design cutting-edge products for predictive maintenance across global clients, spanning from embedded development to cloud infrastructure.

You will work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment, solving challenging problems with a team of self-starters and leveraging Python, AI tools, and modern tooling to deliver high-quality software that aligns with user needs and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science/Arts in Computer Science or related degree
• Experience developing complex software in Python
• Excellent organization and leadership skills
• Experience with modern revision controls tools (SVN, Git, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Stellar communication and problem-solving skills
• Familiar with AI tools to write code, document, and debug
• Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek with flexibility for extra hours

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up to date with latest technologies
