Job summary

TSC’s Product Solutions (PS) organization in Huntsville, AL seeks a Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and validate embedded software for RF sensor products. You’ll work with ARM-based processors, C/C++, Python, and collaborate across hardware, FPGA, and software teams to deliver robust systems.

Responsibilities include HWIL testing, real-time control, and signal processing, with emphasis on debugging, documentation, and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• 3–10 years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python/MATLAB.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller/microprocessor architectures and peripherals.
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers.
• Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for ARM-based processors using C/C++.
• Design, develop, and maintain system test applications using C, C++, and Python.
• Implement real-time controls, signal processing, and inter/intra-process communications.
• Collaborate with hardware and FPGA engineers to define software requirements and system architecture.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues using lab equipment and debugging tools.
• Conduct integration and system testing to ensure software quality and performance.
• Work with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing to validate embedded software functionality.
• Document software designs, development processes, and test plans and results.
