Job summary

Mitratech is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our engineering team in a support-engineering-focused role. You will sit at the intersection of customer-facing problem solving and hands-on development: triaging and resolving technical escalations, communicating clearly with stakeholders, and shipping code fixes end-to-end.

This is a great fit for an early-career engineer who wants real production experience across two modern backend stacks, Ruby on Rails and Go, while building strong

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional software development experience
• Go proficiency; Python is a plus
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Strong debugging instincts and ability to read logs and trace issues
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders
• Comfort using AI tools in workflow and ability to review AI-generated analysis and code
• Ownership mindset to follow tickets through to resolution
• Unix shell scripting experience

Responsibilities

• Own the resolution of technical escalation tickets and diagnose issues reported by customers and internal teams
• Communicate with stakeholders to gather context, set expectations, and report resolution status
• Identify tickets for self-service engineering work and implement fixes through PR and deployment
• Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate triage and draft/ review code solutions
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and reduce recurring escalations through better code, docs, and runbooks
• Follow secure development practices including least-privilege access and secrets management
