Job summary

Astrion seeks a Junior Software Developer to join the Datalinks Test Flight (DTF) team supporting the 46th Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL. You will develop, implement, maintain, and sustain tactical datalinks applications essential for testing within the DTF Lab.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and 0–3 years’ experience, can obtain a DoD Secret clearance, and can travel up to 15%. Proficiency in .NET (C#, VB.NET) and software testing is valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
• Able to obtain interim DoD Secret clearance prior to start date and within 3 weeks of job acceptance.
• Able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification within 3 weeks of job acceptance.
• Experience with .NET programming languages including C# and VB.NET.
• Experience with software testing, fault isolation and resolution.
• Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Good technical written and oral communication skills.
• Able to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Able to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide software engineering to support DoD Developmental Test, & Evaluation events.
• Work with the software development team and stakeholders following Agile principles.
• Develop and maintain Windows-based software in multiple object-oriented languages.
• Develop and maintain XSD Schema files.
• Provide software support to end users.
• Develop software documentation.
• Provide test execution support for software and data collection.
• Develop solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity.
• Attend meetings to provide briefings and recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
