Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems security, or related IT security activities.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and attack methods.
• Ability to review security alerts and logs and escalate when needed.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Must have current Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
• Preferred: hands-on training with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, or endpoint security tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM queues and alerts from security tools to identify suspicious activity.
• Perform initial alert triage: severity, affected assets, user activity, evidence.
• Review logs to identify patterns and establish incident scope and timelines.
• Follow incident response playbooks and elevate incidents with evidence.
• Assist senior analysts with security assessments and mitigation verification.
• Maintain accurate incident records with disposition and sensitive data handling.
