Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–3 years experience in cybersecurity, systems security, or related IT security activities; entry-level readiness possible with training.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, attack methods, indicators of compromise, and safeguards.
• Foundational ability to review security alerts and logs, follow incident response procedures, and escalate as needed.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and organizational skills.
• Must have current Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Hands-on training or supervised experience using SIEM, firewall, IDS/IPS, or endpoint security tools.
• Experience assisting with security assessments, mitigation verification, or incident documentation in regulated IT environments.
• Familiarity with coordinating security activities across IT, operations, compliance, and risk management teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM queues and alerts from firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint tools to identify suspicious activity.
• Perform initial alert triage by reviewing severity, assets, user activity, and evidence.
• Review and correlate logs to identify patterns and establish incident scope and timelines.
• Follow incident response playbooks, perform initial actions, and escalate with evidence and notes.
• Assist senior analysts with security assessments, documenting weaknesses and mitigations.
• Maintain incident records with disposition while handling sensitive data.
• Coordinate with IT, operations, compliance, and risk teams to support security requirements and actions.
