Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks an entry-level cybersecurity analyst to monitor and protect DHMS information systems in a federal setting. You will analyze security data, respond to incidents, and help implement protective measures.

You’ll work with IT, operations, and compliance teams, maintain incident records, and develop documentation while applying data security best practices. A current Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of cybersecurity or related IT security experience.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and attack methods.
• Ability to review security alerts/logs and escalate as needed.
• Current Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM queues and alerts from firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint tools to identify suspicious activity.
• Perform initial alert triage by reviewing severity, affected assets, user activity and evidence.
• Review and correlate logs to identify patterns and establish incident timelines.
• Follow incident response playbooks, document actions, and escalate as needed.
• Assist with security assessments, mitigation verification, and incident documentation.
• Coordinate with IT, operations, compliance and risk teams to communicate findings.
