Job summary

Master Electronics is looking for a Jr SOC Analyst to monitor security alerts, triage incidents, and support the cybersecurity team in protecting people, systems, and information that keep the business moving. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with modern security tools and incident response in a fast‑paced environment.

The role emphasizes building skills in alert handling, documentation, and collaboration with senior analysts, with opportunities to work on runbooks and improvements to security

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in a security operations, IT, or helpdesk role with security exposure (internship or academic project experience considered)
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and common OS internals (Windows and macOS)
• Basic understanding of the attack lifecycle (phishing, malware, credential compromise) and common detection/response concepts
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, alert‑driven environment with strong attention to detail
• Clear written communication — this role produces documentation other analysts and auditors rely on

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts across the EDR/SIEM platform, email security gateway, and secure web gateway, escalating true positives per documented playbooks
• Perform first‑pass phishing/email‑threat triage (headers, links, attachments) and coordinate takedown/remediation with the team
• Monitor DMARC/SPF/DKIM posture via the team's DMARC monitoring platform and flag anomalies for follow‑up
• Document all investigations, actions, and outcomes in the ticketing system with clear, audit‑ready notes
• Support incident response under the direction of senior analysts: evidence collection, timeline building, and containment‑action execution once approved
• Maintain and follow runbooks/playbooks; flag gaps or outdated steps back to the team
• Participate in on‑call/shift rotation for after‑hours alert coverage (rotation cadence TBD)
• Assist with routine access reviews, vulnerability‑scan triage, and other recurring security hygiene tasks as assigned

Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00 / Hourly

Location: Phoenix, AZ

• Exposure to any EDR/SIEM platform (CrowdStrike a plus).
• CompTIA Security+ or actively pursuing it
• Basic scripting (Python or PowerShell) for repetitive‑task automation
• Coursework or certification in progress: CySA+, GFACT, or equivalent
