Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Site Reliability Engineer to help maintain cloud platform health and learn operational best practices. You will work with senior engineers on incident triage, on-call rotations, and automation improvements to reduce toil.

You will gain exposure to containerized environments, observability tooling, and AI-assisted scripting while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Basic scripting or programming in Python, Bash, Go, or similar for automation and log parsing.
• Curiosity, analytical troubleshooting, and teamwork in a fast-learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry across multi-tenant cloud environments to maintain platform health.
• Assist with incident triage and response with senior engineers.
• Improve automated runbooks and standard procedures to reduce troubleshooting steps.
• Contribute to PIRs by documenting timelines and preventive solutions.
• Collaborate with SRE and Product teams to enhance observability dashboards and health signals.
• Participate in structured on-call rotation with mentorship to support reliability.
