Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Junior Scheduler to support the Master Scheduler and Project Controls Team on the Tampa International Airport Airside Program. The role targets individuals with up to five years in scheduling to develop expertise in construction scheduling and project controls.

You will assist with schedule updates, quality checks, and reporting, while coordinating with project managers, inspectors, and contractors in a fast-paced environment at the Airport.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of scheduling, project controls or related experience.
  • Internship or entry-level exposure to Primavera P6 is a plus.

Your impact

The Junior Scheduler supports the Master Scheduler and Project Controls Team in the planning, tracking, and reporting of schedules for major aviation construction projects within the Tampa International Airport Airside Program. This position is ideal for an individual with less than five years of scheduling experience who is looking to develop expertise in construction scheduling, project controls, and schedule analysis.

The Junior Scheduler will assist with schedule updates, quality reviews, reporting, and Primavera P6 administration while working closely with project managers, inspectors, contractors, and other project stakeholders. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule Management and Analysis
  • Assist the Master Scheduler with monthly schedule reviews for active Airside Program projects.
  • Compile schedule data and generate reports to support project analysis and decision-making.
  • Perform schedule quality checks to verify schedule integrity, logic, activity coding, calendars, and durations.
  • Compare weekly schedule updates to identify changes, progress, delays, and potential impacts to project milestones.
  • Generate and distribute Primavera P6 schedule reports for project teams and management.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Time Schedule Reports (TSRs) and related schedule analysis documentation.
  • Support schedule performance monitoring and assist in identifying areas of concern requiring management attention.
  • Download contractor schedules from the Airport's Project Management Information System (Kahua).
  • Upload and maintain schedules within Primavera P6.
  • Copy approved schedules from the P6 Enterprise Project Structure (EPS) into dashboard and reporting environments.
  • Maintain accurate schedule records and archives.
  • Save and organize weekly and monthly schedule submissions in designated project folders and document repositories.
  • Assist with maintaining schedule databases, coding structures, layouts, and reporting templates.
Project Coordination and Reporting
  • Coordinate with project inspectors to verify actual dates of work performed in the field.
  • Support schedule validation efforts by comparing field progress with reported schedule updates.
  • Generate ad hoc schedule reports and analyses as requested by project management and project controls staff.
  • Assist with creating charts, graphics, and schedule summaries for project meetings and executive reporting.
  • Participate in project meetings and support discussions related to schedule status, coordination, and upcoming activities.
  • Maintain organized records of schedules, reports, and supporting project documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Controls Team with scheduling-related assignments and special projects.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for scheduling standards, reporting processes, and project controls procedures.
  • Develop an understanding of aviation construction scheduling practices and airport operational constraints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Here's what you'll need
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in construction scheduling, project controls, project management, or a related field.
  • Internship or entry-level experience with Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, transportation, aviation, or commercial construction projects is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic understanding of construction scheduling principles and critical path methodology.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and present schedule-related information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
  • Based at Tampa International Airport project offices with occasional visits to active construction sites located on the Airport.
  • Frequent interaction with project controls personnel, construction managers, contractors, consultants, and airport stakeholders.
  • Regular attendance at project meetings and schedule review sessions.
  • May require site visits within active construction areas while following all airport and project safety requirements.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $95,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
