Job description

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, our Program Management and Construction Management teams help deliver some of the region’s most complex infrastructure programs through effective planning, coordination, and project controls. As a Scheduler, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects by developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules that help drive informed decisions and achieve program objectives.

In this role, you’ll work closely with project teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to monitor schedule performance, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure alignment with project milestones and contractual requirements. Your expertise will help project teams anticipate challenges, improve project visibility, and support on‑time project delivery across the ATLNext program.

What you'll do
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and planning documents for assigned construction contracts.
  • Review and verify contractor schedules for compliance with contractual requirements, milestones, and schedule constraints.
  • Monitor schedule performance and prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports for project teams and senior leadership.
  • Identify and communicate project critical path activities, key milestones, and schedule risks.
  • Collect and analyze schedule information from contractors and project teams to support management, project, and controls-level reporting.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts, identify conflicts or delays, and recommend mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Assess potential schedule impacts associated with contract changes and change orders.
  • Perform field verification of schedule progress and schedule-related information.
  • Attend project meetings and provide schedule updates, analyses, and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Support Area Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, and Assistant Resident Engineers by identifying potential schedule issues before project meetings.
  • Assist contractors in developing, revising, and finalizing schedules to align with contract requirements when needed.
  • Maintain awareness of contract activities, project stakeholders, and program-related developments.
  • Prepare time‑related reports, analyses, and project documentation as required.
  • Support additional project controls and scheduling activities as assigned.
Here's what you'll need
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction project scheduling, on large-scale design, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Working knowledge of PMWeb or similar project controls software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and Outlook.
  • Proven Experience reviewing and analyzing construction schedules and project progress.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to understand construction processes, sequencing, and contractor means and methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to address project needs with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling principles and schedule risk analysis techniques. Experience performing schedule reviews for complex construction contracts.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience presenting schedule analyses and recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders.
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience supporting large aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or capital improvement programs.
  • Experience supporting project controls functions and change management.
Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well‑being. Your security. Your future.
  • Employees have access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount.
  • Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan.
  • Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full‑time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave.
  • And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
