Job summary

HTC Global Services seeks an experienced Automotive Restraints Design and Release Engineer to drive the design, development, validation, and release of restraint systems and components for automotive applications. You will coordinate product development activities, manage changes, support suppliers, and ensure compliance with FMVSS and IIHS requirements.

The role involves monitoring supplier progress, translating requirements into targets, and ensuring timely part delivery for program milestones

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• At least 3 years experience as a Design and Release Engineer for automotive restraint components.
• Knowledge of FMVSS and IIHS requirements.
• Experience with simulation and testing methodologies for restraint and safety systems.
• Experience managing project schedules, drawings, specifications, supplier deliverables, and milestones.
• Experience preparing FMA documents, DVP&R, and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and release restraint system components (seatbelts, airbags, steering wheels, buckles, height adjusters).
• Monitor interior trim development and interfacing components per engineering benchmarks.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory, customer, engineering, and manufacturing requirements.
• Translate customer and regulatory requirements into engineering targets.
• Manage project timing and on-time part delivery for milestones.
• Develop and maintain DVP&R and quality documentation.
