Job summary

Hatch seeks a Junior Rail Systems Engineer to contribute to the design, testing, and commissioning of rail signal and train control systems in Seattle. You will work with an elite group of rail systems professionals on North American projects across heavy rail and transit markets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and abilities in software/electronics integration, analysis, and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Experience involving software development, electronics, machinery, or multi‑discipline integration.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask while meeting project deadlines.
  • Problem‑solving skills and a self‑motivated learning attitude.
  • Interest in technical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Work with rail systems design professionals focusing on North American projects, with opportunities in heavy rail and transit markets.
  • Participate in signals and train control systems design, testing, and commissioning activities on transportation projects.
