Job summary

NYCSCA in New York City seeks a Project Officer - I to manage personnel, budget, administration and operations across school construction projects from conception to opening.

You will coordinate design and construction activities, monitor schedules and costs, ensure quality and compliance, and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and school staff to deliver safe, code-compliant facilities.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time progressively responsible work in construction/design fields.
• One year managing all phases of construction work of a scale and scope similar to the Authority.
• Driver’s license valid in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and construction activities on less complex construction projects, often under supervision.
• Prepare and monitor project phases, schedules and costs for planning, design and construction.
• Ensure quality and high standards of performance and compliance in design and construction.
• Provide ongoing interface with contractors, construction managers, and school personnel.
• Negotiate and review change orders and supplemental agreements with contractors and consultants.
• Review contractors’ claims and disputes and compile contract information for adjudication.
