Job summary

The City of Melrose is seeking candidates to support the Public Works Department in managing capital improvement projects. Under the supervision of the City Engineering and Deputy City Engineer, you will provide engineering, management, and technical support for municipal infrastructure projects.

You will be involved in defining and resolving issues across design, construction, repair, maintenance, and operation, and in overseeing private contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise design, construction, maintenance and operation of municipal infrastructure.
• Provide engineering, management and technical support for capital improvement projects.
• Define and resolve issues of varying complexity in project design and execution.
• Provide technical design, construction management, oversight and inspection of private contractors and consultants.
• Assist in administering projects, contracts, and grant and loan programs.
