Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an engineer to support project teams on smaller, less complex projects across several western states, including Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Los Lunas, NM, Cheyenne, WY, Salt Lake City, UT, and El Paso, TX.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and basic ERP, CADD, and MS Office skills. You will help estimate changes, manage change orders, procure materials, and assist subcontractors while staying current on industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Basic ERP skills, including inquiring, reviewing, and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders, ensuring they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
