Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD) is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to enhance planning, forecasting, reporting, and execution. You will work with project managers, engineers, schedulers, and construction professionals to develop executable plans and identify risks to improve business outcomes.

This full-time role at our Katy, TX headquarters emphasizes data-driven decision making, cost control, and integrated scheduling using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and other tools
• Help project teams improve planning quality and execution performance
• Organize, validate, and analyze project cost, progress, schedule, labor, and productivity data
• Participate in planning workshops, schedule reviews, forecasts, and project performance discussions
• Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and inefficiencies within large datasets
• Support cost forecasting, progress measurement, change management, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support development and maintenance of integrated schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
