Job summary

Carter’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is hiring a Junior Plumber to learn on the job and grow into a skilled technician. You will work with experienced plumbers on residential systems, diagnosing issues and performing repairs, with a focus on customer service and safe work practices.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with water heaters, fixtures, piping, and drainage while developing inspection and documentation skills under supervision. A drive to learn and a team-oriented attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing and running calls/truck.
• Strong desire to learn the plumbing trade and build a long-term career.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with hands.
• Willingness to learn how plumbing systems work and troubleshoot problems.
• Comfortable using hand and/or power tools and learn proper care of tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced plumbers with residential plumbing service, repairs, replacements, and installations.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot residential plumbing issues.
• Assist with work on water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, piping, drains, and other plumbing systems.
• Learn proper plumbing repair and installation techniques through hands-on training.
• Safely use hand and power tools and learn how to properly care for plumbing tools and equipment.
• Help prepare materials, equipment, and job sites for plumbing work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicle, and tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, plumbing codes, and company standards.
• Learn how to communicate professionally with homeowners and provide excellent customer service.
• Complete job documentation and other paperwork accurately with guidance from experienced plumbers.
• Ask questions, learn from experienced team members, and continuously build your plumbing skills.

• Strong interest in learning the plumbing trade and building a long-term career

• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with your hands

• Willingness to learn how plumbing systems work and how to troubleshoot problems

• Comfortable using hand and power tools, or willing to learn

• Reliable, dependable, and ready to work as part of a team

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Able to communicate professionally with customers and teammates

• Comfortable working in customers’ homes

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Ability to work safely in a variety of residential environments, including tight spaces when necessary

• Applicable plumbing license or trainee requirements based on local regulations

• Experience with ServiceTitan is a plus, but not required
