Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking an Entry-Level PLC Programmer to join our Controls Engineering team. This role focuses on PLC programming, panel testing, system troubleshooting, and commissioning activities while gaining hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley control systems.

This role offers opportunities for technical growth in a collaborative, safety-focused environment, working with experienced engineers and technicians to support project execution and startup activities.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology or related.
0–3 years of experience in PLC programming or industrial automation.
Basic understanding of PLC programming principles.
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley platforms preferred.
Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

Assist with PLC programming, testing, and troubleshooting under guidance of senior engineers.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and P&IDs.
Support modifications to Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 (ControlLogix and CompactLogix) programs.
Participate in panel testing, heat testing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
Perform I/O checkout and verify field devices during startup and commissioning.
Assist with troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and electrical control systems.
Update electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical as needed.
Document programming changes, test results, and project revisions.
Work with engineering, field service, and project management to ensure success.
