Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP seeks an Entry-Level PLC Programmer to join the Controls Engineering team. You will assist with PLC programming, panel testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning on Allen‑Bradley systems, gaining hands-on automation experience.

Ideal candidate holds an engineering degree and up to 3 years in PLC work. The role supports cross-functional collaboration, with travel for startup activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related.
• 0–3 years of PLC programming, industrial automation, or related experience.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming principles and control systems.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with PLC programming, testing, and troubleshooting under senior engineers.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and loop sheets.
• Support modifications to Studio 5000 programs (ControlLogix/CompactLogix).
• Participate in panel, FAT, and heat testing; perform I/O checkout.
• Document changes and test results; update drawings as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, and project teams for project success.
• Adhere to safety policies and industry best practices.
