Job summary

BNP Paribas Asset Management in New York is seeking a Junior Performance Analyst to handle performance measurements and reporting for BNPP AM US client portfolios. You will generate analyses for review and sign-off by Portfolio Managers and support monthly value reconciliations.

The role requires 3+ years in Fixed Income Operations or Middle Office, strong Excel/VBA skills, and a degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. The position offers hybrid work in NYC and a competitive starting salary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Excellent working knowledge of fixed income securities, foreign exchange and fixed income derivatives.
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel and Visual Basic).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience within Fixed Income Operations or Middle Office.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and report performance results to senior management.
  • Work with custodians, trustees, and portfolio managers to resolve all market value differences to within 20 basis points of the net asset value of the portfolio.
  • Validate mandate accounting and performance on a monthly basis.
  • Produce and analyze market value reconciliations as required.
  • Review and resolve outstanding account discrepancies.
  • Prepare standard and customized reports for third parties, as required.
  • Review and oversee adjustments and corrections to the accounting system as appropriate.
  • Special projects as required.

Role description and purpose

We have an excellent career opportunity for a Junior Performance Analyst in our New York office. The Junior Performance Analyst will be responsible for performance measurements and reporting on all client portfolios managed by BNPP Asset Management US. Individual portfolio performance calculation will be produced for review and sign-off by the Portfolio Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and report performance results to senior management.

Role requirements and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience within Fixed Income Operations or Middle Office.
  • Excellent working knowledge of fixed income securities, foreign exchange and fixed income derivatives.
  • Advanced computer skills (particularly in Excel and Visual Basic).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline. Excellent academic credentials.

Physical presence in BNPP AM’s office(s) is an essential function of this position. This role has the flexibility of being hybrid, consisting of an in office and remote working component.

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York City is between $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
