Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services company, is seeking a junior Patch Management Specialist to support the patch lifecycle for desktops, laptops, and remote endpoints. You will help identify patches, coordinate testing, deploy updates, and monitor status to reduce vulnerabilities in enterprise environments.

The role requires a related degree or equivalent experience, 0–3 years of IT experience, and a current secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
Typically 0–3 years of related experience in systems administration or IT support.
Understanding of patch management concepts and familiarity with WSUS/SCCM.
Current secret security clearance is required.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Apply foundational patch management principles to identify, test, and deploy OS/app updates across endpoints.
Coordinate routine and emergency patch cycles with testing, approvals, and maintenance windows.
Monitor patch compliance reports, interpret risk levels, and remediate non-compliant systems.
Understand dependencies between endpoints, servers, and networks for planning deployments.
Assist with automated patch workflows, including scheduling, targeting groups, and documenting results.
Maintain documentation for baselines, procedures, known issues, and SOPs.
