Job summary

RIHousing seeks a Junior Paralegal to support the Legal Department in preparing and reviewing documents, performing legal research, and maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements. This hybrid role in Providence offers direct collaboration with senior counsel and a focus on mortgage lending, public records, and finance matters.

Ideal candidates will have at least three years of paralegal experience, strong drafting and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and legal

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of paralegal or legal assistant experience.
• Experience drafting corporate and legal transactional documents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand statutes, regulations, and program requirements.
• Experience with legal databases and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and amend a variety of legal documents for attorney review.
• Prepare, file, and record documents to protect security interests and maintain good standing.
• Prepare responses to summonses, subpoenas, and records requests.
• Perform legal research and support activities.
• Maintain high accuracy and understanding of applicable laws and program requirements.
• Coordinate corporate filings and document management.
• Attend in-person meetings and witness document execution.
• Handle confidential information appropriately.
• Assist with e-billing and outside counsel invoices.
• Provide department support as directed by General Counsel.
