Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Early Career P&C Field Services Technician in our Hallowell, ME office. You will support the design and construction of substations and power systems, collecting data, preparing documentation, and collaborating with engineers on layout and wiring diagrams.

You’ll perform entry-level engineering tasks, assist with equipment sizing, and help ensure safety and compliance on site while developing technical and professional skills in a growing energy practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some post-education experience in field services, maintenance, construction, or similar environment.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aspen, CAPE).
• Proficient in technical writing, office software, and basic engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components and equipment specifications for procurement and design.
• Assist with basic electrical engineering design tasks including single line and three-line diagrams, substation layout, and grounding design.
• Perform entry-level engineering functions and provide technical assistance on design requirements, equipment sizing, cabling, and conduit/trenching strategies.
• Generate concise documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
• Ensure safety guidelines and site procedures are followed.
