Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Civil Engineer (Substations) for the Freeport, Maine office with consideration for nearby locations including Hallowell, Syracuse, Ann Arbor, and New York. The role focuses on assisting with design, development, and construction of electrical substations in public and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist with data collection and analysis from sites, surveys, and GIS for project development, design, and construction.
• Assist with basic professional civil engineering work including site conditions, resources, and permits conformance checks.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations for end-users and infrastructure.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical input on engineering, design, and construction issues.
• Generate accurate documentation using drawings, electronic systems, and field logs.
