Job summary

CACI Danbury seeks a Junior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to support the mechanical engineering team in the design and analysis of opto-mechanical hardware for space, air, and ground-based payload systems. You will use CREO to create models, GD&T, and data packages for procurement, collaborating with IPTs to meet system requirements.

The role requires a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

Sole US citizenship is required.
Capable of obtaining and holding a security clearance.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of design, analysis, development, fabrication, integration and verification processes.
Experience with opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, thermal or structural systems.
Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent.
Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Willingness to collaborate across departments and drive tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze hardware for opto-mechanical payload systems for space, air, and ground applications.
Own designs within the development process and support team lead tasks.
Develop concepts from requirements and prepare data packages for procurement.
Create detail drawings and BOMs using PDMLink; generate CREO models and assemblies.
Apply GD&T to precision parts and conduct design reviews with stakeholders.
