Job summary

Eco Pack is seeking a Jr. Operator to support the production team in moving raw materials and finished products. This role involves operating bundler equipment, identifying defects, and assisting with maintenance while adhering to safety guidelines.

The position requires strong teamwork and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. The role is night shift on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00pm to 7:00am, with responsibilities across labeling, material handling, and maintaining a clean, safe work

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • English literacy: read, write, speak and understand the language.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds dead weight.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred (12 months).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor bundler equipment at production rates.
  • Identify defects in raw materials or finished product and notify supervisor.
  • Assist Machine Operator with maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Label bales correctly and place on skids using manual or equipment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and keep the work area safe and clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Position Purpose

The Jr. Operator is responsible for performing physical movement of raw materials and finished product. Responsible for collaborating with Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly and safely. Support Machine Operator with bag production. Work independently to accomplish tasks around the plant assigned by Plant Manager.

Shift Hours: FRI/SAT 11:00pm - 7:00am

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
  • Must be able to lift up to eighty pounds dead weight.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12 months previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to detect potential problems with raw material or finished product.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operating and monitoring bundler equipment at established production rates within a production environment.
  • Recognize defects in raw material and finished product, quickly notify machine operator or supervisor.
  • Establish a working relationship with Machine Operator to assist in preventive maintenance, cleaning the machine and fixing issues with the machine.
  • Label bales properly.
  • Place bales on skids manually and with equipment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques.
  • Keep a clean worksite to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.

  • Treats all Eco Pack stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect staff and themselves.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected production information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to Human Resources or Plant Manager.
  • Participate and train in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to Plant Manager.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
  • Follow all plant established safety guidelines.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • Ability to work under conditions such as heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 80lbs.
