Job summary

Triton Environmental Consultants, Ltd. seeks a plant operator in Springfield, Missouri to run batching, pelleting and packing equipment within established safety, quality and customer service guidelines. This is a 3rd shift role, 8-hour shifts from 10:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills required.

• Able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Able to climb catwalks, stairs and ladders to check bins.
• Must perform basic math operations.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Physically active and mobile during shift.
• Able to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet conditions.
• Able to work with allergens present.
• Self-motivated with a solid work ethic.
• Good attitude and works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple processes with minimal supervision, rotating between areas as needed.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and production processes are optimized to maximize output.
• Provide back up to other positions to cover absences or heavy workload.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety discussions and improvements.
• Participate in quality, lean manufacturing, and training meetings as required.
• Maintain housekeeping per policies and SOPs.
• Notify management of any product/process not meeting standards to reduce waste.

Job Summary

This position is assigned to operate equipment within established guidelines for efficiency, safety, product quality, food safety and customer service. The equipment will include batching, pelleting and packing equipment and other equipment unique to a plant. The operator must be knowledgeable in batching, pelleting and packing procedures and properly document the process as required by Quality and Food Safety procedures. This is a 3rd shift position working 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. The base wage rate for this position is $22.00/hr with a 3rd shift differential of $3.00/hr.

Facility Expectation

• Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Ensure product quality expectations are met.
• Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
• Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
• Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
• Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
• Required to work overtime as specified by management.
• Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities and Authority

• Operate multiple processes within the facility with minimal supervision, rotating between areas as needed, while collaborating with management and team members to ensure quality, food safety, and customer service standards are met.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and production processes are optimized to maximize output.
• Provide back up to other positions in the plant to cover for absences, vacations or heavy workload.
• Required to be forklift certified.
• Attend all safety meetings and actively participate in discussion and help identify ways to improve safety.
• Attend and actively participate in other staff meetings regarding Quality and Food Safety, Lean manufacturing, customer service, annual training or other topics.
• Ensure housekeeping of your work area and other assigned portions of the plant is completed as specified in AQS-FD policies and QFS SOPs.
• Notify the Plant Manager, Superintendent or Supervisor of any product or process not meeting company standards to reduce the chance of product claims, required re-work or other things that reduce efficiency.

    • Must be physically active and mobile throughout the shift.
    • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions.
    • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment.
