Junior Offshore Shift Supervisor (Construction)

Mission

• Coordinate specific activities with a group of construction crew in compliance with Project specifications, ensuring efficient performance and adherence to HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
• In the absence of a 1st Assistant, assume overall responsibility during your shift for work and construction crew under the supervision of the Offshore Construction Manager.

Tasks

• Assist the 1st Assistant (or the Offshore Construction Manager if a 1st Assistant is not assigned) with interdisciplinary coordination of specific activities onboard.
• Supervise a group of construction crew, directing foremen and/or supervisors across various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Keep the 1st Assistant and Offshore Construction Manager fully informed of potential problems and the construction status.
• Coordinate with the Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer, Vessel Equipment Engineer, and subcontractor supervisors as needed to ensure proper coordination of activities under your responsibility.
• Ensure adherence to the Permit-to-Work system for the construction crew and conduct daily Toolbox Talks and JSA as required, following established procedures.
• Motivate the construction crew/subcontractors regarding health, safety, and environmental awareness.
• Ensure compliance with Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures to perform activities safely.
• Report incidents and near-miss events promptly.
• Provide a construction report at the end of each shift.
• Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in monitoring project equipment and consumables, and in the operation of the stinger and JLT.
• Verify that rigging gear is within date and properly marked.
• Report directly to the 1st Assistant or the Offshore Construction Manager if the 1st Assistant is not assigned to the vessel.
