Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a necropsy assistant in Horsham, PA to support basic necropsy procedures and documentation. The role involves learning anatomic terms, assisting with audits, and performing tissue collection and sample handling in a laboratory setting.

The position offers a pay rate of $21.70 per hour, with salary variations based on experience, skills, education, and location. High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in a biological science is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred in a biological science.
• Must be detail-oriented with general familiarity with lab procedures and good verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Learn/know correct anatomic terms.
• Assist in the preparation of responses, deviations and other documentation from audits.
• Assist with and perform basic necropsy procedures (dissection, tissue collection/preservation, sample collection, organ weights).
• Learn/know operation of equipment (calipers, balances, centrifuges).
• Perform basic data collection using a computerized capturing system.
• Perform basic blood collection techniques; perform related duties as assigned.
