Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a Junior-Level Naval Architect to support the USCG Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding programs and relevant regulations.

Responsibilities include feasibility and design analysis, hull form and stability studies, and documentation to support surface assets and boats per ISO and class standards. Onsite full-time role with occasional local remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or related marine discipline.
• 0–2 years progressive experience in Naval Architecture.
• Knowledge of U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding programs and DoD/DHS shipbuilding programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and documentation for ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, integration, stability analysis, hydrodynamic and seakeeping properties.
• Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design.
• Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards.
