Job summary

Piper Sandler & Co. is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to support daily market tracking, new issue execution, and transactional administration.

The role requires collaboration with bankers, analysts, and sales professionals across municipal and fixed-income desks. Ideal candidates have a finance‑related bachelor's degree and about two years of relevant experience, with strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, plus bold communication and organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or related field.
2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Outgoing, confident, and persuasive communicator with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Underwriter with daily market tracking, new issue execution, and transaction‑related administrative tasks.
Develop the ability to clearly express market views, pricing opinions, and transaction recommendations; act as a professional point of contact for bankers, analysts, sales professionals, and external market participants.
Assist with Ipreo‑related responsibilities, proof new issue wires, compile allocation sheets, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate execution.
Prepare concise credit summaries for competing bond sales; monitor daily market trends, investor demand, and pricing dynamics to support scale‑writing and transaction positioning.
Collaborate with banking analysts to gather market data for RFP responses and assist in preparing materials for client discussions and pricing updates.
