Job summary

HJ Sims is seeking an Assistant Municipal Underwriter to coordinate all facets of the bond underwriting process and support the Head of Municipal Underwriting. You will work with sales professionals, traders, bankers, investors and issuers to manage new issue pricing across regions and sectors.

The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum 5+ years on trading or underwriting desk.
• Strong understanding of municipal credit and finance.

Responsibilities

• Review internal transaction calendar and prepare pricing schedules.
• Identify comparables and develop pricing strategy for new issue engagements.
• Participate in conference calls and meetings for new business opportunities.
• Interact with bankers to discuss market conditions and pricing tactics.
• Account for and maintain syndicate balances and orders.
