Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Software Machine Learning Engineer 1 to join the Integrated Product Support team in Newport News, VA. This role focuses on robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies to support facilities operations.

You will lead cross-disciplinary work, develop and integrate ML solutions, and help deliver projects on time and within budget while ensuring security clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• Candidate must have experience with Bachelors in Engineering from an ABET accredited program in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
• Candidate must have experience developing custom GUIs, HMIs, or other operator interfaces
• Candidate must have experience analyzing design engineering requirements documents and electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings
• Candidate must have strong project management, scheduling, and organizational skills
• Candidate must have strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to oversee development and implementation of manufacturing facility projects across all project management phases
• Perform engineering oversight for design engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, electromechanical controls, and/or structural
• Provide field engineering, field technical assessments, and contractor management during construction
• Provide manufacturing process engineering and technology development
• Control project costs and schedules

ABET-accredited engineering degree (Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Mechatronics)
