Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking a Mine Geologist I to support core logging, field data collection, and geologic logging activities at the Casa Grande, AZ site.

The role reports to the Senior Mine Geologist and requires attention to safety, quality, and accurate data capture. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Geology and up to two years of geological field experience, with comfort using geology software and following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or related discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in geological fieldwork preferred but not required.
• Wamiliarity with safety protocols and field safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Detailed logging of drill core at core facility using tablets or laptops.
• Geotechnical logging, including fracture counts and rock hardness as needed.
• Coordinate drill hole decisions with Senior Geologist based on results.
• Ensure proper core orientation and sampling procedures for safety and quality.
• Conduct geologic field mapping and collect samples.
• Occasional weekend or evening work as required.
