Job summary

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will perform lithology logging, assist in decisions on drilling depth, and contribute to geotechnical logging and sample collection while maintaining compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology, mining or related discipline from a four-year accredited college or University, or demonstrated equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in the geological field.

Responsibilities

• Detailed logging of drill core at the core facility using tablets or laptops.
• Ensuring drill rigs are properly oriented as specified by the Senior Mine Geologist.
• Coordinating with the Senior Geologist to decide on ending or deepening drill holes.
• Detailed Geotechnical logging including fracture counts, joint roughness, RQD, and rock hardness.
• Geologic field mapping and sample collection.
• Ensure core sampling by core splitters maximizes safety and quality.
• Perform other related geological work as required.
• Occasional weekend or evening work.
