Job summary

Capstone Copper is seeking a New Graduate Metallurgist I at Pinto Valley Mine near Globe, AZ. This entry-level role provides hands-on exposure to crushing, grinding, flotation, and plant optimization, working with a multidisciplinary team to support concentrator operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field.
• 0–2 years of mineral processing, concentrator operations, or metallurgical lab experience (internships/co-ops count).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily plant performance and track metallurgical KPIs (recovery, grade, throughput, reagents).
• Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret metallurgical data to support improvements.
• Assist with metallurgical balances, production reporting, and process documentation.
• Support lab testing, sample prep, pilot plant testing, and investigations.
• Plan and execute metallurgical test work to evaluate plant performance.
