Job summary

Capstone Copper is seeking a New Graduate/Metallurgist I to provide technical support across concentrator operations, including metallurgical analysis, process monitoring, and lab testing. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to optimize plant performance, improve recoveries, and ensure safe, efficient processing.

The role offers hands-on experience in crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, and dewatering, with mentorship from seasoned metallurgists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in mineral processing, concentrator operations, or metallurgical lab work (internships/co-ops count).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficient with Excel and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily plant performance and track KPIs such as recovery, grade, throughput, and reagent use.
• Analyze metallurgical and operating data to support process improvements.
• Maintain metallurgical balances, production reporting, and process documentation.
• Assist with laboratory testing, sample prep, pilot testing, and investigations.
• Plan and execute metallurgical test work to evaluate plant performance and improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues in crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, and dewatering circuits.
• Support optimization projects to improve recoveries, concentrate quality, and operating costs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, Process Control, and Mine Engineering teams.
