Job summary

CAPSTONE COPPER Pinto Valley is seeking a Graduate Metallurgist / Metallurgist I to support concentrator operations through metallurgical analysis, monitoring, and laboratory testing. You will collaborate with Metallurgists, Operations, and Mine Engineering to optimize performance and recoveries, while ensuring safe, efficient processing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
0–2 years experience in mineral processing, concentrator operations, or metallurgical lab work.
Understanding of crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, and dewatering.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
Internship/co-op experience considered.

Responsibilities

Monitor daily plant performance and track KPIs (recovery, grade, throughput, reagent use).
Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret metallurgical data for process improvement.
Maintain metallurgical balances, production reporting, and process documentation.
Support lab work, sample prep, pilot testing, and investigations.
Plan and execute metallurgical test work to evaluate plant performance and improvements.
Assist in troubleshooting processing issues across circuits.
Support optimization projects to improve recoveries and operating costs.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, and Mine Engineering.
Ensure safety, MSHA, environmental compliance, and SOP adherence.
