Job summary

CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp Company, seeks a Project Engineer to support the Tampa PM team on mechanical projects from turnover to closeout. This role suits early-career engineers seeking hands-on experience in mechanical contracting with a clear path to project management.

Responsibilities include coordinating turnover, reviewing drawings and specs, managing submittals/RFIs, procuring materials, issuing POs/subcontracts, and tracking changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 0–3 years in project engineering, coordination, or related role in construction/mechanical contracting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/plumbing drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate turnover meetings with Estimators for Tampa-area projects.
• Review contract documents for scope and conflicts; flag concerns early.
• Manage submittals: create register, request from vendors, review for compliance, submit for approval.
• Draft and track RFIs; communicate responses to field and subs.
• Procure materials/equipment; track lead times and delivery dates.
• Issue POs and subcontracts; log changes in QuickBooks Workforce.
• Assist change management: price gathering and change order tracking.
• Submit owner-directed purchases (ODP) requests and track approvals.
• Support scheduling and coordination with trades and GC.
• Visit job sites to verify progress and assist field teams.
• Maintain document control and project tracking logs.
