Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy & Power Solutions team in Fort Worth, TX. You will work under mentors, engage with clients, and contribute to concept-level plans through to detailed design and implementation.

The role emphasizes engineering fundamentals, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on modeling, calculations, and drawings for energy projects. A degree in ME or related field, EIT, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline
• EIT or ability to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to successfully work in a cross-functional global team, thriving in both collaborative and independent settings
• Ideally, familiarity with 3D modeling tools (Revit, AutoCAD, NavisWorks) and flow modeling software (Pipe-Flo, AFT Fathom)
• Familiarity with Python, R or Julia; modeling/simulation programs like Modelica, TRNSYS, Simulink, Aspen Plus; thermodynamic tools like Thermoflow/Aspen Hysys
• Familiarity with district energy systems, power generation facilities, data center cooling, energy modeling, geothermal systems
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting, advisory, conceptualization, and design through studies, engineering calculations, modeling and simulation, and construction drawings for energy and power projects
• Tasks may include piping and equipment sizing, flow modeling, energy analysis, life cycle cost evaluations, stress analysis, digital twinning, and other detailed calculations
• Engage with clients, develop concept-level plans, and take designs through detailed design to full implementation
• Mentor under Professional Engineers and collaborate with a cross-functional global team
