Job summary

Quaise Energy seeks a Jr. Mechanical CAD Designer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of millimeter wave drilling technologies.

You will create detailed 3D models and drawings, assist with prototype builds, and work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced R&D environment. This early-career role offers hands-on work in engineering labs and field sites, with opportunities to grow technical capabilities alongside experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in drafting or mechanical design.
• 1–3 years in mechanical CAD design or engineering support.
• Experience with prototype development or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Exposure to machining and fabrication processes is a plus.
• Experience in R&D, energy, industrial, or manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD software.
• Support prototype mechanical systems and components for lab and field applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure manufacturability and integration.
• Assist with prototype assembly, fit-up verification, and troubleshooting in lab settings.
• Coordinate standard mechanical components and hardware for prototypes.
• Participate in testing, data collection, and documentation activities.
• Maintain CAD files, drawings, and BOMs.
• Occasional field visits to support installations and testing.
